Why do I want to be a teacher? Will I be a "good" teacher?

Good morning :)

So today I will talk about:

Why I want to become a teacher?

Last year I matriculated at a very, very disadvantage school, Weltevrede Secondary School. At the school there was constantly no water and electricity, no windows and the toilets was out of order. The teachers at our school did everything in their power to give us the same quality education that the other privileged schools got. So I want to become a teacher so that I can help children in disadvantage areas to achieve something. I want to help them pass their matric and see that they truly are worth it. I want to unlock their potential and show them that there are still people that care! I want to make a difference in their lives and most of all I want to inspire them to rise above their circumstances.

Characteristics of a "good" teacher.

A good teacher:

  • Respects students.
  • Creates a sense of a community and belonging in the classroom.
  • Is warm, accessible, enthusiastic and caring.
  • Has his/her s own loving of learning.
  • Is a skilled leader.
  • Maintains professionalism in all areas.

Do I think I will be a "good" teacher?

I think I will be a GREAT teacher, because my teacher set an example for me. I will give back to the community and I will not settle for anything less than great!

The quote of the day:

To the world you may be just a teacher but to your students you are a HERO!

Have a great day

And remember, My friendshippy is Your frienshippy
