Reflection on blogging

Good day fellow friends

I'm going to reflect on my blogging journey.

Blogging for me is actually really cool because I can write about anything that is important to me. I would actually encourage people to start blogging not for money but for the love and feel of it.

On my blogging journey I got the chance to express myself in a way I never really could. At first I didn't really knew what to do but now I'm starting to get the hang of it.

After a very long and stressful day I would just come on my blog and read my fellow bloggers post and that was actually nice because some how it became a stress reliever for me.

After this I sure will still be blogging because I got used to it. Blogging opened a new world of possibilities for me and I would encourage many people to start blogging.

I can connect with people whom I have never even spoken to and that for me is cool.

So I think that blogging is something good and teacher should surely use this in their classroom.

Have a great day friends

Social Media in the classroom and how I can use it to be a better teacher.

Hey there, it's me again!

Well today I will be talking about social media and how I can use it to my own advantage.

I personally don't think that social media is necessary in the classroom, but it can be a huge advantage for the teacher.

Since technology is part of our daily lives more learners are starting to use social media. So many teachers can use this to their and the learners advantage. Learners will not only love the work but they will also enjoy it.

The teacher can use social media (Facebook, Titter, BBM and WhatsApp) to communicate with the learners. They can create a group with all the learners in it to give them tips about how to study etc. The teacher can give the learners homework trough the group or remind them to do it, that way the learners can't say that they had forgotten or something.

How did teaching practice change my idea of how I see myself as a "teacher"

Halo friends

So today I'm going to talk about how teaching practice changed my idea of how I see myself as a teacher.

On my first day as a teacher I really didn't know what to expect. The grade 11 and 12 learners didn't even listen to me because of our age difference. I only graduated from school last year and the school where I did my first teaching practice was my old school's neighbouring school, so a lot of the learners knew me by name.

I realised that because they don't see me as a teacher I need to distance myself from them and become less friendly. Teaching practice learned me that the less friendly you are, the more the learners are going to listen to you or may even be afraid of you.

So at the higher grades my age was a huge problem, but grade 8 and 9 was another story. Because the age gap between me and them they really don't even know me, so with them I could really work with.

Teaching practice made me see myself differently as a teacher and I know that I can use my age as an advantage because I can connect with the learners on another level. They will still have a lot of respect for me but they will see me as a friend and that way they will always try to make me proud.

I know that my age won't always be the same and it won't always have the same effect on the learners but teaching practice made me see myself as a open teacher, willing to put myself out there just to get the best out of the learners.

So I see myself as a young, hip and happening friendly teacher!

How do I see myself as a teacher?

Hey guys it's me again!

So this is a question that many of us tend to ask ourselves.

I see myself as very hard working person and I will transfer these characteristics in my job as a teacher. I would really like to correct myself on my previous error, teaching is or will not just be a job for me, it is my passion.

I see myself as very understanding which means that I will understand why some students didn't do their homework but I will give them an ultimatum, you either stay after school to finish it or you can come to my house and let me help you.

I think that I will be a great asset to the world of education, because I will try to do my very best to help my students be successful.

Why do I want to be a teacher? Will I be a "good" teacher?

Good morning :)

So today I will talk about:

Why I want to become a teacher?

Last year I matriculated at a very, very disadvantage school, Weltevrede Secondary School. At the school there was constantly no water and electricity, no windows and the toilets was out of order. The teachers at our school did everything in their power to give us the same quality education that the other privileged schools got. So I want to become a teacher so that I can help children in disadvantage areas to achieve something. I want to help them pass their matric and see that they truly are worth it. I want to unlock their potential and show them that there are still people that care! I want to make a difference in their lives and most of all I want to inspire them to rise above their circumstances.

Characteristics of a "good" teacher.

A good teacher:

  • Respects students.
  • Creates a sense of a community and belonging in the classroom.
  • Is warm, accessible, enthusiastic and caring.
  • Has his/her s own loving of learning.
  • Is a skilled leader.
  • Maintains professionalism in all areas.

Do I think I will be a "good" teacher?

I think I will be a GREAT teacher, because my teacher set an example for me. I will give back to the community and I will not settle for anything less than great!

The quote of the day:

To the world you may be just a teacher but to your students you are a HERO!

Have a great day

Each friend represents a world in us, a world possibly not born until they arrive, and it is only by this meeting that a new world is born!

Good morning friends

As you all know my blog is about friendship. According to some experts opinion friendship is something that is much underrated in our society. Friendship is actually a form of love. Without friendship our societies would be unbearably dull and alienated from one another.

In my opinion friendship is when you don't have to be shy about who and what you are with a person or persons. It's about being able to laugh and cry at the same time without feeling weird about it. Friendship is the most important thing to me!!

So I'll tell you a little more about myself as we go along but here are the basics. I'm a student, a teacher in the making if I may add. I really like to help children in rural areas to become something, because all they really need is someone to help and love them, someone they can come to when things get rough and someone they can call a friend.

So everyday I'll blog something and then I'll give you a quote. We'll call it 'The quote of the day'

The quote of the day:

True friendship is not when you go to school and hang around with someone just because you have no one else to chill with. It's not calling someone up when you are bored because they are fun to talk to. It's not when you have to talk to someone about something you don't care about.
Friendship is when you love someone with every ounce of your being and genuinely want them to be happy even if it means sacrificing something yourself to make them happy.
